Famous poker quotes

How many times have we seen a politician pay in votes – lots of them – for a bad quote, or worse – misquote? Former US President George W. Bush alone has a rich legacy of memorable quotes, most of which are not on the highest intellectual level.

In poker, fortunately, when a player speaks his or her mind the effects may not be as devastating, and there are plenty of pearls of wisdom to be found out there.

Take for example Phil Hellmuth (some of his quotes would have to be censored…): -‘I guess if there weren’t luck involved, I’d win every time. So is poker a game of skill or luck…?

Even several centuries ago, author Jonathan Swift had a great quote: I must complain the cards are ill shuffled till I have a good hand. There is a fair amount of players who would agree with that one…
